Ces CSS peuvent \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s comme dispositif d'interface avec des CCR de secours dans le cas o\u00f9 un CCR serait hors service ou en cas d'urgence. Le couvercle \u00e0 face morte avec une protection int\u00e9rieure transparente prot\u00e8ge l'utilisateur des composants \u00e0 haute tension. Ces CSS sont \u00e9galement utilisables pour commuter la sortie du CCR vers les PAPI, les barres d'arr\u00eat et les REILS.
